HISTORY
OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
During
the Middle Age Advent of Scholastic Philosophy, Pierre Abelard introduced a
technology of instruction which was really a new method of structuring and
presenting materials that helped set the style of scholastic education. The
use of technology in the process of learning and teaching has improved the way
in which students learn throughout the years. The 19th century
paved in the advent of effective technological development including the
production of textbooks, use of blackboards, and improvement in writing
implements like pen and ink. In 1920,
visual media became widely accepted and in 1926, educational films were used as
instructional media. In the 21st century Technologies of the future only recently
focused on computers, Internet current primary trend.
Computer
literacy or knowledge of computer applications is a moving target teaching
students technical skills for today is valuable computer-based materials are
just one component of resources available to education system. Integration of
technology as a tool to advance learning in the content adds to the
effectiveness of teacher’s created activities.
Now
a days being connected by phone and Internet really does unite people .People
communicate with people and they feel closer to and forget about weak ties,
their neighbors or acquaintances faraway.
Technology
is everywhere, but there are also things that is hard to solve. For example the
signal in our cellphones sometimes it do not have a signal if we go to a far
place near the mountains. Second is the electricity, because there are really
place here in the Philippines that until now they don’t have yet an
electricity.
As
a future teacher we must also think that even though the world is changing
there are still people who cannot adopt that changes especially those people
who are living near the mountains. That is why as a teachers we must be
flexible and open minded in the real world.
